slowGlow

The Block nightclub theme event, 2018

Curator: Marina Pozner

Leveraging knowledge from previous projects, this 2.5 meters tall kinetic exhibit was the central art piece in an event hosted at the Block nightclub [         ]  in Tel aviv. The event theme was time, and ~100 artists presented their interpretation for it. slowGlow was the central artpiece, located behind the main DJ stand. slowGlow is a wooden disc, covered with phosphorous glow-in-the-dark material (the kind used for safety signs). A clock-like hand rotated at slow speed, resembling an analogue clock. Light from an LED strip, located on the dial “charged” the phosphorous material, leaving a desired pattern. Following the theme, the clock was programmed to write the phrase: “Tic toc” that was constantly faded and re-written.
