1D Matkot

MakeLight exhibition, Bloomfield Science Museum, 2013

Curators: Zvika Markfeld, Saron Paz

The 1D matkot uses the intuitive essence of the original physical game of matkot with a twist - the ball is replaced by led lights that pass between two players using a touch-pad.
The Israeli game of  “Matkot” is simple: two players pass a small rubber ball between them using racquets. Their goal is to keep passing the ball for as long as they can. The game creates a shared feeling of engagement and competence, and is often said to be the “national game of Israel”.
